In the summer of 2016, three new members joined the Center for Victim and Human Rights board of directors. For this month’s Board Member Spotlight, we interviewed one of these new members, Marios Fellouka, to learn a little more about who he is.
Here is what we learned:
What initially sparked your interest in becoming a board member for the CVHR?
I have a passion for helping victims and giving back to the community. In my daily life, I prosecute cases of sexual assault and child abuse, but I wanted to do more to help victims.
What are you most excited to do or accomplish in your role as board member for the CVHR?
Spread the word of CVHR’s mission in an effort to get more support from members of the community – volunteers and donors.
What has been your favorite part about being a board member for the CVHR so far?
Learning more about the work CVHR does and coming up with ideas as to how to help more victims of violence and human rights violations.
Are you messy or organized?
A combination of both. As far as I am concerned, I am messy, but there is organization in my messiness.
Best vacation you’ve been to?
Key West, FL.
What did you want to be when growing up?
Mathematician.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Hang out with my dogs, Athena and Artemis.
What is an ability you wish you had?
Teleporting
What is the first concert you attended?
Beyoncé, in 2016
What tv show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love?
Anything related to vampires. Vampire Diaries, TV show.
What was your favorite book, toy, or outfit as a child?
A penguin stuffed animal.
